Question: Down Easy Podcast

Question: Down Easy Podcast

I received a question about the sample source at the end of track 13, Lootpack’s “Answers (Instrumental),” but I’m afraid I’m unaware of the original sample source to the end of the song. Part of the reason I prefer to release these podcasts on a blog format is because it enables people to leave feedback much nicer than any other format.

However, I’ve found most people just peep the music at their discretion and leave very little feedback – nothing wrong with that. Yet, if they do want to leave feedback or ask a question they choose to use the Contacts page form. This is a perfect example of why the blog-style layout for a podcast Web site is so useful. I don’t know the sample source of Lootpack’s “Answers” song, and had the question been posted with the blog page for the podcast, someone who might know could answer the question.

So if there’s anybody out there who is aware of what the sample source is to the last bit of the “Answers” beat by Lootpack, we’d really appreciate it if you could share it with us.

Peace & thanks for listening.

News: Israeli Air Raids in Gaza Kill as Many as 200 People

News: Israeli Air Raids in Gaza Kill as Many as 200 People

By Calev Ben-David and Saud Abu Ramadan

Dec. 27 (Bloomberg) — Israeli aircraft attacked police and security installations across the Gaza Strip, killing scores of people in the deadliest raid in the coastal region since the 1967 War, security and medical officials said.

As many as 200 people were killed and 750 injured, including women and children, Mu?awia Hassanein, a Palestinian medical-services official in Gaza, said today. Hamas, which controls the Gaza Strip, called the air strike a massacre and said it would retaliate.

At least 54 rockets were fired from Gaza today after the air strikes began, killing a man in Netivot, police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld said in a telephone interview. Sporadic protests in Arab communities across Israel have occurred, and arrests have been made, Rosenfeld said.

Israel?s strikes started at 11:30 a.m. and in two minutes hit more than 30 targets, most of them security compounds run by Hamas, said an official of the movement who declined to be identified. They came after a week in which dozens of Qassam rockets were fired into Israel following the Dec. 19 expiration of a six-month cease-fire with Hamas.

If you are American, all I ask of you is to imagine September 11th, 2001, again and realize it’s their everyday life over there. This shit cannot go on. Both sides have an infinite supply of blood on their hands. But just like every other so called “great” nation in the world, The United States Of America doesn’t want to get involved like all of the other horrible warring events of history that ended in a blood bath for the record books. Say it with me. Proud to be American, just like every other nation … of cowards. Where at least we know we’re free … in doom. Happy fucking new year from the Gaza Strip.

End rant.

Video: First Writing Since (Revision) by Suheir Hammad

Text: Trauma At Home, Page 139.

I’ve never been the celebratory type of person. Instead, when most are expected to rejoice and have high spirits during the holidays, I choose to take the time and reflect on miss-steps, setbacks and crises so to grow from them, learn from the failures, and most of all, never forget the tragic side to this gift of life we all have been given. So in honor of the holiday season for the boy in a bubble that is my country that raised me to be American, I’d like to take the time and remember one of the most life changing moments we all share in this past decade – September 11th, 2001.

Please take from the great prose, First Writing Since, by Suheir Hummad, what you will. But never forget. May it be a building block. All of those who were lost from the tragedy must not have died in vain. My America, open your eyes to the West Bank and the Gaza Strip. Do not let Iraq, Afghanistan and Pakistan keep you from the real problem of the 21st century – the apartheid in Palestine/Israel. There is no solution in a two-state system, for it is not the 50 states that makes America so great. The division in our country is not what makes us beautiful. It’s not how President-elect Barack Obama won office. It is found in his keynote speech that put him on the national spotlight back in 2004 for John Kerry’s bid for the White House – his dream of a United States of America, not a divisive and separated one.

I think what sums it up best can be found tagged on the Israeli Security Wall in the West Bank, seen in the film, Henry Rollins Uncut From Israel:

“Friends cannot be divided”

Merry Christmas.
