I admit, once I got in that booth I felt the exact opposite of what people were saying white people would feel. From the start of the campaign I supported Ralph Nader, donated to his campaign, bought a shirt that didn’t fit well, but once I got in that booth I realized this will probably be the only time in my life I’ll be able to vote in a presidential candidate who is black. I figured if he doesn’t win, that’s it, for the rest of my life it’ll stay an all white, boys club.
Girl, was I wrong!
For the first time I actually feel like what Michelle Obama conveyed and was attacked for by the right-wing media – “For the first time in my life I’m proud of my country…”
Yea, I said it. Welcome to the new America. Congratulations to Barack Obama, President-elect #44! We’re rich, beyotch!
